Simplex views increase monotonically. Thus the latest digest we see represent the canonical certified chain of blocks. Maintain a head sync target that tracks the latest simplex view
Fetch unknown ancestors of the head target. If a reorg is detected when reaching the latest certified digest, wind back to the finalized tip. Ancestry walk remains valid as the lates simplex view
