Problem Design Statement

Instructions:

Please fork this repository to your own account, either directly edit the README file to include your statement or upload a text file (.txt, .docx) to the repo and then create a pull request to submit it to me. Your Problem Design Statements are due by 5:00pm Sep 22, 2016.

Your statements should include:

  • The problem you are addressing
  • ——The accomplishment and engagement rate for online courses are really low.
  • The eductional goal that you plan to address
  • ——My goal is to help course providers estabilish more engagable online course, through which the accomplishment can be increased.
  • Your objectives for the project
  • ——My objective is to find the features that can improve students' engagement with online courses.
  • Your priorities for the project
  • ——Get dataset, clean data, generate features, build the model, test the model
  • What you plan to measure to achieve your educational goal and address your problem
  • ——1. Since there are various educational platforms that have different features, I need to find the most appropriate one for my current project.
  • ——2. I need to get access of their data.
  • ——3. I will read related articles, in order to get better sense of all possible features that I should pay attention to when I analyse the data.
  • ——4. I will test the features and the model that is built based on thoes features.
    • Including an fake data set
    • I have not made a final decision about which platform I will use. At the current stage, I'm using the edX as a reference. Therefore, the features in this fake data set are based on the edX and will be refined later.
