For the background for Beanstalk, currently it is a huge long image. Do you want to keep it this way, or tile the background and potentially have parallax effects?
The latter, definitely. Huge long image was just a hack for a fast prototype.
For Beanstalk, once the player gets to the top of the tree (background in space), the design doc says the tree will essentially restart. What about the background? Shall we keep the player in space? Going back down to the beginning might seem a bit odd.
The idea was for a seed to fall all the way down from the top, and the game to almost entirely restart, including the background (the only the thing not restarted would be the player's total accumulated height).
