2015 Twin Cities makerspace workshop I designed and led: 7 friends, 16 hand-built ashiko drums, start to finish from raw lumber through goatskin head. Includes the table-saw sled jig for compound stave cuts, CAD geometry, build photos, and notes on running a multi-skill-level workshop.
Personal woodworking projects — segmented turning, custom furniture, and assorted craft pieces built outside of professional engineering work. The portfolio of an engineer who spends evenings and weekends in the shop. Larger projects have their own repos (ashiko, djembe, dundun, didgeridoo, flutes, fujara, chessboard-table).
Stave-built didgeridoo design — 2013 acoustic study covering 25 musical keys (C1-C3, with build lengths from ~27" at C3 to ~107" at C1), frequency-to-length calculations, stave geometry across L:D aspect ratios 22:1 to 26:1, and design brainstorming for internal-rib patterns. Sister project to djembe and ashiko-drum-workshop.
