Tornseglare är en fågel inom familjen seglare och enda representant för familjen i norra Europa. Närmast besläktade med kolibrier och trädseglare. Den är en flyttfågel och har sina vinterkvarter i Afrika, framför allt söder om ekvatorn. The common swift (Apus apus) is a medium-sized bird, superficially similar to the barn swallow or house martin but somewhat larger.
