I'm Veronica, a full stack developer in training with over 10 years experience as a Business Analyst and Product Owner on software development projects. My work experience is within the financial services industry, ranging from highly technical payments processing systems to award winning mobile banking apps. In the workplace I'm known for my analytical thinking and high attention to detail, with a love for problem solving and the satisfaction that comes with achieving the solution.
I'm currently studying at Makers Academy, a 16 week intensive bootcamp teaching full stack web development. Throughout my career I've worked closely with software engineers and am excited to be making the transition to development, and being the one that gets to bring the requirements to life.

10x Future Technologies (May 2019 to August 2020)
Product Owner / Business Analyst
- Defined requirements in the form of user stories and detailed acceptance criteria for each feature I worked on.
- Facilitated refinement sessions with developers and testers, breaking down the technical tasks needed to deliver the user story, and understanding how the testers would evidence its completion.
- Reviewed solution designs to ensure they would meet both functional and non-functional requirements, without over-complicating the technical delivery. This gave me an understanding of asynchronous request processing using Kafka.
- Participated in all of the sprint ceremonies - daily stand ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives.
- Heavily contributed to the API designs for multiple features, and was responsible for updating the API specifications in Swagger throughout feature development.
- Produced process flows and technical sequence diagrams in LucidChart.
- Analysis of unhappy path scenarios, including technical issues, identifying where retry mechanisms or a dead-letter-queue and alert was appropriate.
- Set up Grafana dashboards - including defining and testing custom Prometheus metrics, writing queries in PromQL and building the dashboards in the Grafana UI.
Projects / Features:
- Enhancement of existing microservice endpoints to make them idempotent.
- Introduction of a JWT token to API requests. As part of this feature I defined what access the different types of user tokens should have on each endpoint I owned, and wrote the auth policies in Rego, the Open Policy Agent's native query language.
- Payments features including Current Account Switching, Scheduled Payments and Payment Mandates.
