Summary of Changes

Hello @zerofishnoodles, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request introduces a new security scanning tool, Checkov, into the development workflow by adding it as a pre-commit hook. The initial integration is designed to be non-intrusive, providing security insights without blocking the CI pipeline, allowing the team to gather information on potential issues before enforcing stricter checks.

Highlights

  • CI/CD Enhancement: Integration of the Checkov security scanner into the pre-commit hooks configuration.
  • Non-blocking Scan: The Checkov scan is configured to run manually (stages: [manual]) and with --soft-fail, ensuring it will not block the CI pipeline or pre-commit checks for now, serving purely for informational purposes.
  • Scope of Scan: Checkov is configured to scan various infrastructure and configuration types, including GitHub configurations, GitHub Actions, Python/Golang SAST, Helm, Dockerfile, and YAML files.
