This PR is solving #180
The original PR in #181 is stale, as it also tries to solve the positional argument from #174
I decided to go the simpler route first.
If #174 should be solved, I suggest adding another API function or introducing a breaking change for both endpoints.
FYI: I have this change in production already, which confirms that this is working.
