Dublin Core

These are the metadata fields commonly used for the TAEP Digital Edition and their definitions:

Base Resource Template

Title

A name given to the resource.

Bibliographic Citation

A bibliographic reference for the resource.

[NOTE FOR TEAM: This metadata field is in the base resource template, but there is currently only 1 item using this metadata field, while all other metadata fields have a minimum of 10,000 items connected to them, should this one remain inn the documentation or be removed? - https://edisondigital.rutgers.edu/document/SB018023a#?c=&m=&s=&cv=&xywh=-518%2C-1%2C2435%2C1480]

Editor's Notes (original: Abstract)

A summary of the resource.

Author (original: Creator)

An entity primarily responsible for making the resource.

Recipient (original: recipient)

An agent that receives a communication document.

Mentioned (original: Relation)

A related resource.

Date

A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource. Format is yyyy-mm-dd.

Decade (original: Temporal Coverage)

Temporal characteristics of the resource.

Type

The nature or genre of the resource.

Subject

The topic of the resource. Skip to subject list

Folder/Volume ID (original: Is Part Of)

A related resource in which the described resource is physically or logically included.

Microfilm ID (original: Source)

A related resource from which the described resource is derived.

Document ID (original: Identifier)

An unambiguous reference to the resource within a given context.

URL (original: uri)

Universal Resource Identifier of a document

Rights

Information about rights held in and over the resource.

Publisher

An entity responsible for making the resource available.

Timestamp (original: Date Created)

Date of creation of the resource. This the same information as the Date field, but makes the date searchable.

Has Version

A related resource that is a version, edition, or adaptation of the described resource.

Item Set Resource Template

Description

An account of the resource.

Item Set Search Resource Template

Identifier

An unambiguous reference to the resource within a given context.

Notebook Resource Template

Has Format

A related resource that is substantially the same as the pre-existing described resource, but in another format.

[NOTE FOR TEAM: Joan mentioned to me that some of the terms refer to different information depending on the sites (such as "HasVersion" for the Notebook collections versus the main collection). Can someone review the resource templates with me one more time to point out any metadata terms that need distinct descriptions for different resource templates?]
