Vote

A vote is a build-in currency of ThankToken. It supports democratic decisions based on the same infrastructure. A particular vote is publically announced and each voting option (e.g. a party or a candidate) is represented by a public key (or more precisely its ID). A person votes by transfering his vote token to one of these public keys before the initially announced voting deadline.

Value

The amount of a vote token is always 1 as we believe in the democratic vote pricipal of equality. The value is therefore also fixed to 1 and never changes.

Creation

A truly democratic vote requires the following aspects:

  • free - every person is free to vote according to his personal belief, no externals shall take preassure or force on him

  • secret - every person can keep his vote secret

  • general - every person (adult) can participate and vote

  • equal - every vote counts equally, no person has more influence with his vote than another independend of money or power

  • direct - every person diretly votes for the end result. To build the government by direclty selecting the candidates and even better for spending community income by directly participating in the decision what to fund itself.

  • accurate - every vote has to be properly taken into account and the end-result is the correct outcome of all votes

  • transparent - every person can verify that his vote was properly accounted

While aspects like transparent and secret seem contradictory with latest cryptography they can be combined.

TODO explain how vote tokens are created for the people and how "mixer services" can help to create anonymity and allow secret votes.
