ZBrush

  1. Tool > Import to bring in an object. I recommend OBJ format.
  2. Edit (press T) to make it editable
  3. To REMESH, Tool > Subtool > Remesh. Turn off symmetry (unless you want it).
  4. Delete your old Tool (your original mesh) in Tool > Subtool.
  5. The ZREMESHER in Tool > Geometry > Zremesher can intelligently create a low-poly mesh from the output of REMESH. Use the default value of 5 or try different values. 3 is often a nice compromise.
  6. Unlike REMESH, ZREMESHER doesn't generate a new Tool; no need to delete.
  7. Use the UV MASTER plugin to generate UVs for your new mesh. Zplugin > UV Master > Unwrap All.
  8. To export, go to Tool > Export. Be sure to keep the .mtl file generated with your .obj.

You should now have a clean, UV-mapped mesh ready for use in other programs.
