DMX Remote Control
DMXRouter can be controlled via DMX channels from an external lighting console. This allows you to trigger show cues, select shows, control crossfades, and operate engine parameters using physical faders and buttons on your desk.
Open the Remote Control panel (Alt+0) to configure which DMX channel controls each function. Each control requires:
- Protocol — Art-Net or sACN
- Universe — the source universe
- Interface — the network interface to listen on
- Channel — the DMX channel number (1–512)
| Channel | Function |
|---|---|
| 1 | GO (trigger next cue) |
| 2 | Stop |
| 3 | Previous cue |
| 4 | Next cue |
| 5 | Play / Pause toggle |
| 6 | Go Back |
| 7 | Autopilot toggle |
| 8 | Show select (value 1–40) |
| 9 | Cue select (value maps to cue number) |
| 10 | Master fade level |
| 11–15 | Reserved |
Channels 64–79 are used for per-engine control when RDM Alert Identify is configured via templates.
Most controls use a rising edge trigger — the function fires when the channel value goes from below 128 to 128 or above. This prevents continuous triggering while the fader is held up.
Continuous controls (like master fade level and show/cue select) respond to the actual value proportionally.
The Remote Control panel includes a Value Reference card showing the channel assignments and expected value ranges for quick reference during programming.
