Show Mode

Show Mode is a live-show protection lock that prevents accidental changes to the routing configuration during a performance.

What It Does

When Show Mode is active, destructive and caution-level operations are blocked across:

  • The desktop GUI
  • The web interface
  • The REST API

Playback controls (GO, Stop, Play, Pause, cue navigation) remain fully available.

Blocked Operations

  • Creating, deleting, or modifying process engines
  • Changing merge modes or input/output assignments
  • Modifying channel patches
  • Editing RDM templates
  • VLAN creation or removal
  • Configuration save/load
  • Force Full Discovery (RDM)

How to Enable

Toggle Show Mode from:

  • The toolbar button in the main window
  • The web interface (Engines page)
  • A DMX remote control channel

The Show Mode indicator is visible in the status bar when active.

Caution vs. Blocked

Some operations show a confirmation dialog ("Show Mode: Are you sure?") rather than blocking outright. This covers actions that might be needed in an emergency — like forcing an RDM discovery to find a replacement fixture.
