Troubleshooting

Having trouble with Link Sanitizer? Don't worry, we're here to help!

Common Issues and Solutions

1. Link Sanitizer isn't cleaning my links.

  • Check for updates: Make sure you're using the latest version of Link Sanitizer.
  • Try a different link: Some websites use unusual tracking parameters that Link Sanitizer might not recognize yet.
  • Report the issue: If you think Link Sanitizer should be cleaning the link, let us know! Report Bugs

2. The "Shorten" button isn't working.

  • Check your internet: Make sure you're connected to the internet.
  • TinyURL might be down: Link Sanitizer uses TinyURL to shorten links. If TinyURL is having problems, the button won't work. Try again later.
  • Try a different link: Some very long or complex links might not shorten correctly.

3. The "Decode" button isn't working.

  • Make sure the link is encoded: The decode button only works on links that are encoded. Encoded links have symbols like %20 in them. If the link looks normal, decoding won't change it.
  • Try a different link: some very complex links might not decode correctly.

4. I don't see the tracking parameters in "Tracking Info".

  • No tracking parameters: The link you pasted might not have any tracking parameters.
  • Unusual parameters: Some websites use unusual tracking parameters that Link Sanitizer might not recognize yet.

5. Link Sanitizer isn't loading in my browser.

  • Restart your browser: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix the problem.
  • Reinstall Link Sanitizer: Try removing and reinstalling the extension.
  • Check for browser updates: Make sure your browser is up to date.
