Livestock are a major focus of Click For Hot Chicks.

Hot Chicks adds wild-type ancestor animals that can be domesticated into different breeds. Livestock animals have dynamic stats, which can be selectively bred by the player for better traits.

Instead of finding fully tame, docile farm animals in the wild, players will need to capture and domesticate their progenitors, and spend time breeding them into something useful. While this is an investment, domestic livestock breeds provide much more meat, leather and other products than vanilla counterparts.

Care basics

Each animal needs to eat regularly and have access to fresh water. Animals that aren’t well taken care of will have no drops, and hungry or unhappy animals can’t be milked or lay eggs. Unhappy animals cannot be bred. Some animals will even get extra testy when neglected and attack players and pets.

You can currently right click with a stick to see an animal’s care stats; sneak for hunger, otherwise thirst.

Adults have a 0.1% chance to attempt to eat/drink if they are hungry/thirsty, babies it's a 2% chance (these chances come from sheep eating grass), OR 100% if their hunger/thirst is half or lower.

  • Chickens have max hunger and thirst of 6, and will eat: all seeds, wheat, oats, corn, and peas.
  • Rabbits have a max hunger and thirst of 6, and will eat: wheat, corn, oats, kale and lettuce.
  • Cows have a max hunger and thirst of 16, and will eat: wheat, oats, corn, seeds, lettuce, and saplings.

Animals will currently only drink from water-filled troughs and water bottles.

Unhappy animals (half hunger and/or half thirst, and lower) will have smoke particles on them to indicate they are unhappy.

Species

As of the open beta, Hot Chicks adds 3 species of domestic livestock.
